Hey Hey! I hope you had a great week and are ready for the weekend! It’s Friday and you know what that means… new blog post! A few of you asked about our recent road trip so I’ve jotted down everything you need to know about our day trip to Marfa, Texas!
We visited Marfa on our way back home from New Mexico (read about our trip to White Sands National Park here). Marfa is a small town in Texas literally in the middle of the desert. This town and surrounding area has a lot to offer and is great for a weekend getaway! There are a lot of good food options, coffee shops, art galleries, or you could even go hiking at Big Bend National park that’s nearby! Since it’s currently 2020 and we are all trying to be as safe as possible, my friends and I took a short detour on our drive back from New Mexico to check out a few famous landmarks.

Prada Store
Our first stop was something you’ve definitely seen before! Either on Instagram or Beyonce’s music video. The Prada store is a permanent art installation thats a non-functioning replica of an actual Prada store… except it’s on the desert in the middle of nowhere which makes it so unique. You can pull up on the side of the road and depending on the time of day, there may be a line to snap a few pictures.

Target Marathon
The tiny Target “store” is a little ways away from the Prada Store. It is actually not in Marfa and is closer to a town called Marathon hence its name. Similar to the Marfa Prada store, Target Marathon is also a non functioning piece of road side art and is the size of a closet. With a train track right behind it and with the mountains in the background, its is the perfect photo op! There is also a red cart that you can use too!
Address: Search ‘Target Marathon’ in google maps and it will show up.

Marfa Burritos
Marfa Burritos is a little spot in Marfa that has a big outdoor patio to sit and eat. There are around 7 types of burritos on the menu and one of them is veggie friendly! They only take cash so make sure you have some on you. They are open from 6AM – 2PM Monday through Saturday. We ate here around lunch time, but it would be great for breakfast! They ran out of the green sauce (which is supposed to be really good) and the red sauce was VERY spicy!
A lot of celebrities have visited Marfa Burritos including Anthony Bourdain, Matthew McConaughey, and Mark Ruffalo! Also, if you notice in the picture below the walls are covered with names of people that have eaten there so make sure to add yours!
Address: S Highland Ave, Marfa, Texas 79843
The Sentinel
The Sentinel is the cutest hang out spot in Marfa that serves coffee, cocktails and more! Due to the pandemic, they have limited seating. I got the iced Lavender latte which was PERFECT for a hot day. It is open Monday – Thursday from 8:30AM to 4PM and Friday – Sunday from 8:30AM to 10PM.
Address: 209 W. El Paso St., Marfa, TX, 79843
So if you live in Texas and thinking about taking a road trip or if you are flying to Texas just to see any of these sites, make sure to bookmark this post! We were able to see a lot in less than 24 hours but a weekend trip to Marfa would have been even better! Big Bend National park is close and there are tons of restaurants and galleries to check out! Just make sure to stay safe if you’re reading this post before a COVID vaccine has been found 😉 Hope you found this itinerary of our Day trip to Marfa, Texas helpful, let me know if you have any other questions in the comments below! Happy Weekend Friends!
