Hey there – I hope you had a great weekend and your Monday is off to a great start!! Pleated midi skirts have been back for a few years and there are so many fun colors and patterns to play with! I picked up this skirt for no occasion or reason except for the fact that I fell in LOVE with the color! It’s a satin teal blue that I haven’t seen anywhere and I knew that I could style it a few different ways. This exact skirt is sold out but I’ve linked it in case it does come back in stock. I’ve also linked similar skirts varying in color and price range and the bottom of this blog post. Keep reading to see how I would style this satin teal pleated midi skirt!
Casual T-shirt Look
I own a few different colored midi skirts and I always find myself wearing them with a white tee and sneaks (you can read more about these perfect sneakers here). It’s a cute chic outfit you can wear casually and look completely put together and comfortable at the same time. I usually gravitate towards wearing plain white t-shirts or white cropped tops but a black top or even a graphic tee would work as long as it’s styled the right way. If you do end up styling it with a t-shirt, try tucking in your t-shirt completely under your skirt, tucking only the front of the shirt into the front of your skirt or trying a knot like I have below.

Dress It Up or Down with a Jacket
I’m pretty sure I will always recommend adding a jacket to either dress up or dress down your look. It’s just another super simple way on how you could style a pleated midi skirt that instantly transforms your look. Denim jackets are a great way to dress down your outfit or as a transitional piece into fall and a leather jacket is perfect to give this skirt a little edge.

Tie Front Tops
Tie front tops aren’t for everyone. I love wearing them but only on good days when I’m feeling extra confident and want to show some skin LOL. Wearing a tie front top with a midi skirt allows you to be sexy on top and stay classy on the bottom. Below I’ve styled this pleated midi skirt with a white tie front top but don’t be afraid to play around with different colors, as you will soon see!

Button Down Shirts
Button down shirts are a good way to add some character when you wear a pleated midi skirt. You can tuck it in completely under your skirt or tie it like I have below. Whether it be this statement skirt or a simple midi skirt, this is an easy look for work too! I personally wouldn’t wear this look to work but if you work somewhere fabulous, maybe you could!

Contrast Colors and Statement Tops
I loooooove wearing pieces that contrast in color. Blame it on my love for kanchipuram (silk) sari’s and the influence of my mom’s classic sari style, I love mixing and matching pieces with completely different colors to make a statement! I’m also a sucker for bold fun statement pieces that can completely elevate my look. Below I’ve styled this skirt with a bright pink crop top with statement sleeves. I would also style this skirt with so many other colored tops!

Dress It Into Fall and Winter
Cropped sweaters are perfect for high waisted bottoms. You could totally wear a regular sweater with a pleated midi skirt and just tuck the front of it in but this cropped sweaters won’t give you all that extra material. This is how I would wear this skirt into the fall or winter by just adding a light sweater and booties!

I’ve linked some similar pleated midi skirts at the bottom of this post! Hopefully this blog post was able to show you or give you some future inspo on how to style a pleated midi skirt. How else would you style this skirt? Let me know in the comments below! Have a wonderful week friends and I’ll talk to you on my next blog post on Friday!
